PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl)

The Bonn Association of Student Affairs (Studentenwerk Bonn) has determined that there is exposure to PCB in one dormitory. In order to clarify the situation, the first initial measurements have been taken. The values of these measurements are between 290 and 1,300 ng/m³ air. At the moment, additional measurements are being taken with the objective of being able to make a representative statement about the overall contamination.

According to our present information, we assume that there are no acute health risks.

Our methods and the steps taken by us are based on valid building laws, in this case "Guidelines for the Evaluation and Renovation of PCB-Exposed Construction Materials and Components in Buildings
(PCB Guidelines for North Rhine-Westphalia)
